Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
We believe your financial data is deeply personal. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: your data stays yours.
What we collect
- Email address — to create your account and send you verification codes
- Financial data you enter — income, expenses, accounts, and transactions
- Basic usage data — like when you last logged in, to keep your account secure
- Device and browser information — to ensure the app works correctly on your device
How we use your data
Your data serves one purpose: making Resto work for you.
- Calculate your daily allowance and show your spending patterns
- Send verification codes when you log in
- Send important account notifications (like subscription changes)
- Improve the app based on aggregate, anonymous usage patterns
We never sell your data
This is not negotiable. We don't sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties for marketing purposes. Your spending habits are yours alone.
How we protect your data
Your personal information — names, emails, bank account details, transaction descriptions, and merchants — is encrypted at the database level using column-level encryption. Even if someone accessed the database file directly, your data would be unreadable without the application's encryption keys. Data is also encrypted in transit. We use passwordless authentication — no passwords means nothing to steal. Access to production data is strictly limited and audited.
Your rights
Your data, your rules. You can always:
- Export all your data at any time from your account settings
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Ask us what data we have about you
- Update or correct your information
